The soft top control module is responsible for operations of the convertible top and windows. It is located behind the passenger seat in the back storage compartment under a black plastic cover. It is a silver box with either two or three plugs.



There are several different types/versions, none of which are interchangeable. The most common ones are

129 820 0097 1989 to 1995

129 820 3126 1996 to 2002

129 820 3926 1998 to 2002

There are some other numbers, but they are very rare, only in approximately 5,000-7,000 vehicles each:

129 820 2426

129 820 2526

129 820 3226

We carry the common modules in stock. All modules are $595 and come with a two year warranty. There is an additional $200 core charge for 129-820-0097, and an additional $300 core charge for the other models. Core charges will be refunded upon receipt of the old unit (so long as they are rebuildable - no water or fire cars). You also have to option to send us your unit to be rebuilt (in this case, no core charge is assessed).
